Benefits
Your Riding Style Will Improve
- After applying the principles of PYAMT, the coaching from your Observer and after passing the IAM motorcycle test your riding style and attitude will have changed. As an Advanced Rider you will be in the correct position, travelling at the correct speed, in the correct gear to negotiate any hazard or obstacle you meet. Your riding will be smoother and safer and done with style and ease. Your confidence will have improved dramatically.
- As a member of Durham Advanced Motorcyclists you may be invited to become an Observer. You will be able to exchange ideas and riding tips with other advanced riders.
Insurance Companies Will Offer You Discounts
- Many insurance companies recognise the fact that an Advanced Rider is much less likely to have an accident than the average rider. The IAM now offers its own insurance via a brokerage firm and several leading insurers. This scheme can offer significant benefits.
Your Bike Will Last Longer
- With your smoother riding style and improved use of gears, brakes and engine the consumable items such as brake pads, chains/sprockets and fuel will go further.
Your Pillion Passenger Will Notice The Difference
- Your pillion will notice the difference in your advanced riding style. Your improved observation skills and bike control will make their riding experience much more pleasurable.
